So you bought this gem of an RV for an amazing price and you are so excited to make it pretty. It looks a little dated and you want to brighten up the interior of this new to you Camper as fast as possible.
You don’t want to invest a lot of money because you have never owned an RV before. You just want to try it out, if this is actually the right path to go for you and your family.
No problem at all.
Start by checking if everything on the inside is in good condition and then give it a good cleaning. I used this detergent to get the inside clean and smelling fresh again.
Leave doors and windows open and wipe everything down with warm water and this detergent. Wear gloves! You will notice the Camper will smell better instantly.
If the inside still smells pretty musty after cleaning, take all the textiles off. Get rid of the old mattress, take the valances off and just keep the blinds on the windows, take the slipcovers off. The bad smell sits in the textiles, so remove as much as you can.
If your Camper has an old carpet you can’t remove now, use a carpet cleaner to get all the dirt out.

Camper Renovation – The 3 steps you can do right now to brighten up your RV
Look at your entry door! Is the door yellowish and looks very dated? Are the ceiling vents yellow? How about the light fixtures? Also yellow? There is an easy way to update and make it look more modern.
Here is Number 1 of Camper Renovation – 3 steps you can do right now to brighten up your RV/Camper
Start with the entrance door – If your door is yellowish and very dated looking, start pimping up the screen and entrance door with some color.
The only material you need is an angled brush and one or two different sample colors. You can get a sample color at Lowes or Home Depot for about $ 3. It takes not even 30 minutes to paint that door and makes such a difference.
How to paint the door: Clean the door with warm water and detergent, then apply 2 coats of paint. Let dry in between coats. That’s it.
If you have some stickers or decals you like, add them on the inside of the door.
Or you can get creative and add peel and stick wallpaper and add a clear coat, for protection over it. Or decoupage your front door. But don’t forget at least 2 layers of clear coat.
Get a bottle of appliance spray and get rid of yellow ceiling vents, yellowish sinks, showers and toilets. Just make sure you protect yourself and the floor and everything else you don’t want to get messed up with spray.
No need to replace a vent or sink if you don’t like the dated color – use spray paint to update it and make it white and fresh again.
Here is Number 2 – Camper Renovation – 3 steps you can do right now to brighten up your RV/Camper
Add some peel and stick wallpaper! Select a wall which is a focal point in your RV.
Seriously, it is not hard to apply peel and stick wallpaper on a wall without plugs and windows. It takes maybe an hour, including measuring, cutting the wallpaper and applying it.
If you select a wallpaper pattern without a pattern repeat it is so easy to do. And because the walls are not very big, you probably only need to apply two panels and you are done.
This wallpaper has a pattern repeat of 2,5 inches, so you just add 2,5 inches to your second wallpaper panel measure. Here is how to apply peel and stick wallpaper.
But wow, what a difference it makes if you add pattern and color to your Camper.
Here is Number 3 – Camper Renovation – 3 steps you can do right now to brighten up your RV/Camper
Glamp up your Camper with more attractive light fixtures. If you don’t want to replace the light fixture, then just make it pretty. By replacing the light bulbs with LED lights you have already made this Camper so much brighter. (Check the socket in your Camper to order the right bulbs).
If you have a little talent add a crochet cover, or cover the socket with feathers or make a macrame cover, or make tassels. There are so many ways to cover this oh so plain looking light fixture with a little glamour.
